The American College of Greece
Research Center

The American College of Greece (Deree – ACG ) is the oldest and largest, comprehensive, independent, American accredited college in Europe, currently enrolling over 7,000 students in its three educational divisions. The College’s more than 65,000 alumni reside in more than 100 countries, occupy leadership positions in areas such as business, the arts, and the sciences, and constitute a vibrant and proud alumni body that promotes Deree – ACG’s mission, vision and values.

ACG-RC is a not-for-profit Research Center newly established (launched in 2020) that acts as a platform for the promotion of research and innovation in the fields studied and taught in schools and divisions of The American College of Greece (ACG). The faculty and researchers of ACG-RC that will participate in REFOCUS have extensive experience in managing and conducting research activities in EU funded projects, as well as in developing curriculum and educational material.

The ACG School of Business and Economics (SBE) offers two programmes of study relevant to the topics of this proposal:

  • Shipping Management.
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management

The Advisory Council of the SBE currently comprises 15 external members from the business and policy communities, all distinguished professionals in their respective field, who will be involved in the learning communities by practice that will be formulated within REFOCUS.

The ACG has a Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC), which guides faculty toward instructional methods that are in line with a learner-centred approach: more interactive learning, student engagement as opposed to passive student attendance, etc. TLC members will provide useful insight within REFOCUS by participating in REFOCUS learning communities by practice.
